Arcam's expertise in designing cost-effective, highly musical amplifiers goes all the way back to the original A60 of the mid 1970's - since then there have been a long line of ever improving amplifier products which gives the A18 a truly epic heritage. With excellent build quality, the latest technological developments in audio amplifier design have been incorporated in the 50W per channel design to give better sound quality than hitherto possible.

High quality audiophile capacitors and resistors are employed, together with oversized toroidal power supply for superb bass slam and timing. Short signal paths are achieved by use of a multi-function rotary encoder for adjustment of volume, bass, treble and balance, all under the control of a sophisticated microprocessor -this micro also monitors the health of the A18 and the load connected, ensuring that short circuits, over temperature and the like are unlikely to damage the amplifier.

Six stereo line inputs plus a low noise moving magnet phono input for tuntables give you choice in expanding your system over time, high quality 4mm speaker binding posts ensure a positive connection to your loudspeakers. A 3.5mm front panel jack socket allows you to connect your iPod or MP3 easily. Rap your knuckles on the solid casework and all you will hear is a dull thud - the mechanically damped case ensures that the delicate audio circuits within are not disturbed by external resonance, ensuring crystal clear sound quality.
