The Arcam A49 is the highest performing amplifier Arcam have ever produced & with a massive 200 watts in 8 Ohms your not likely to want for power.

But of course power is nothing with out control and by drawing on over 40 years of experience Arcam believe the A49 represents the Pinnacle of their stereo Audio engineering.

With a class G amplifier which is a variation on the standard class AB, feature additional supply rails. These rails kick in when output-signal peaks would otherwise exceed the maximum voltage available from the class AB amplifier’s single voltage rail. Class G amps employ several power rails at discrete voltage steps and switch between them as needed. Instead of providing multiple rails, class H amps track the input signal and modulate the voltage on the supply rails)

The A49 also uses a toroidal based power supply, acoustically damped chassis, paralleled transistor output stages and exceptionally low levels of distortion and noise both the A49 and P49 are capable of reproducing music with all its original authority and detail. Both the A49 and C49 feature dual mono volume controls and a balanced signal path all the way though the product together with distortion nilling input multiplexers. Rest assured you will be hearing the music just as the artist intended.

Both the A49 & P49 have been designed to leapfrog the competition with a massive 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 400 into 4 ohms. It delivers 50 watts in pure class A mode while allowing for huge extra power reserves from our latest generation class G topology that is both clever and efficient. Distortion is measured in less than one part per million so that this massive power is deliver with total control and finesse. There have been great strides made in improving audio
sources and loudspeakers in recent years and the time is right to match them in the field of amplifier design. These ground breaking amplifiers are must audition amplifiers for music lovers who understand that power is nothing without control. The P49 has been designed with system building flexibility in mind and can be configured as a traditional stereo power amp, bridged mode or dual mono mode allowing for the “ultimate” system of a C49 with six bridged P49s tri-amping the

On the first day of Las Vegas' CES2014 show, Arcam revealed its latest and greatest in stereo integrated amplification; the A49. The A49 is a 200 watt beast, and claims to be the most intense and powerful amplifier the company have ever produced, utilising specialised circuitry and Class G power amplifiers, each with 50 watts of Class A power in the first instance.

These powerful elements are housed within a robust chassis, specially designed to minimise distortion to a level Arcam have never reached before. Arcam truly have outdone themselves with the A49. Regardless of the speakers being used, or how vast the room environment is, the A49's huge power reservoir has the capability to deliver a continuous 200 wpc into 8 ohms, rising to 400 wpc into 4 ohms. The A49 also features an integrated PSU, for easy integration with Arcam's exceptional rSeries of wireless and wired DACs.

In order to achieve the highest possible performance from this FMJ product, we thoroughly recommend you ask us to calibrate and install this product for you in the comfort of your home
