With 30 years of amplifier design experience under Arcam's belt, the engineers brief in designing the Arcam A38 was to create Arcam's finest sounding integrated amp ever.
The fully discrete circuitry of the Arcam A38 stereo integrated amplifier contains discrete transistors, resistors, capacitors and inductors, there are no sound quality compromising integrated circuits in sight.
Wide bandwidth output is assured by the current feedback circuit topology, and DC coupling (no capacitors in the signal path) means that low frequency extension and grip is simply astounding.
One of the most important developments in the Arcam A38 is the use of Sanken output transistors which incorporate their own thermal tracking feedback sensors, so that when a large transient in the music occurs, the transistor warms up, but the bias is adjusted to compensate so that the distortion performance is maintained at a minimum.
The massive toroidal transformer, independently rectified and smoothed DC rails per stereo channel minimise noise and hum for a clearer soundstage and deeper stereo image. All pre-amplifier stages have their own dedicated regulated power supplies for low noise performance.
The preamplifier stage of the A38 is based upon the high end C31 preamp, which via reed relays passes a clean, transparent signal to the A38's power amp stage.
If you are in the market for a world class integrated amplifier with supreme power and control, the A38 will fit the bill.
