The backbox is designed to increase the sound insulation to adjoining rooms, while also providing the fire safety barrier sometimes required by building regulations in order to prevent fires in the wall cavity from spreading into the room. 

When used in solid construction, the backbox will define an appropriate working volume for the speaker which may need to extend beyond the boundaries of the wall frame. 

Backboxes are priced as a single unit, please adjust the quantity accordingly. These are not retained in stock as standard and are a special-order item. For this reason, backboxes of any kind are non-returnable, so please ensure that your measurements (including that of the inside wall-space, beams, etc) are correct before ordering. Please consult your builder or contractor before purchasing, and ensure that the dimensions specified here are suitable for the loudspeaker application.
