Quad

Peter Walker started QUAD in 1936 - the first commercial products were the Quad 22 pre-amp and Quad II monoblock power amps, all valve designs. They were incredibly successful products which were in production for over 10 years.

Quad embraced the new transistor technology in the 1970's and launched the 33 pre , FM3 tuner and 303 power amp - design classics to this day and highly collectable. Following on were the 44 pre and 405 power amplifier, then the 34 pre and 306 power amp, together with the FM4 stereo tuner. Again these models were held in high esteeme from reviewers and public alike.

With new ownership and management in the new millenium, Quad have forged ahead with the Quad Elite series of electronics, again to critical acclaim.
