DALI Ikon 5 5.1 Home Cinema Speaker Package

This surround sound speaker package consists of one pair of DALI's Ikon 5 floorstanding loudspeakers, one pair of Ikon 1 bookshelf loudspeakers, the Ikon Sub subwoofer and the matching centre channel for the range; the Ikon Vokal 2. All models are the newer 'Mk 2' versions of the loudspeakers. 

IKON 5 FLOORSTANDING LOUDSPEAKERS (FRONT)

The Ikon 5 (Mk 2) stands just 81cm tall and is generally more discrete in appearance than many standmount models. The Ikon 5 is not discrete in sound however, as its compact size has not meant compromising sound quality or performance of the speaker. What it does mean is that the speakers can easily be integrated with existing décor, creating an impacting look without being invasive. 

In terms of the speaker's audio capability, a variety of specially chosen and carefully engineered components enable the Ikon 5 (Mk 2) to deliver the kind of sonic excellence one would expect from a speaker built by DALI. The Ikon 5's dual layer baffle creates an accurate and acoustically enhanced platform to enable the dual 5" bass/midrange drivers to work to their full potential, alongside the unique hybrid tweeter module. The cross-over network components are mounted, by hand, to wood fibre boards that have been designed to absorb vibrations, practically eliminating unwanted resonance within the cabinet.

The Ikon 5 (Mk 2) can be used flawlessly as a simple two-channel stereo hifi option, or they can be placed as front/rear surround sound units for home cinema applications. The speaker is ideal for medium to larger acoustic environments and easily fills the room with pure, warm, detailed sound - all from an aesthetically elegent cabinet. 

IKON 1 BOOKSHELF LOUDSPEAKERS (REAR) 

The IKON 1 MK2 is a bookshelf/stand-mount loudspeaker, designed to cater for small to medium sized acoustic environments. The Ikon 1 works exceptionally well in both two-channel stereo set-ups, and as front/rear units in a complete surround sound system for home cinema applications. 

Even when pushed to high volumes, the Ikon 1 retains a detailed and astonishingly deep bass response, thanks to its wooden fibre 5" mid/woofer driver. This driver has been designed to integrate flawlessly with the hybrid tweeter unit. The Ikon 1 Mk II delivers the same warmth, detail and authenticity one would expect from the original Ikon 1's, or from any loudspeaker engineered and designed by DALI. 

One of the upgrades the Mk 2 version has over the original Ikon 1, is that the bass port is now located at the back of the unit, instead of the front. Because of this, it has been possible to design speaker slightly lower than its predecessor, but retain and improve upon the same level of warmth clarity found in the original Ikon 1.

IKON SUB SUBWOOFER

When it comes to music and films, bass is a pretty important aspect to making the whole thing work. Too much bass and you can lose important mid/upper end elements, too little bass and you can be overpowered by these elements. The Ikon Sub (Mk 2) has been designed to resolve this issue, with the philosophy of flexibility and comprehension being at the forefront of its design process. The result is an aesthetically pleasing, high-performance subwoofer with great power and capability.

IKON VOKAL CENTRE CHANNEL LOUDSPEAKER 

The Ikon Vokal 2 (Mk 2) is the centre channel loudspeaker of the Ikon (Mk 2) series and arguably has one of the most important jobs within the AV/surround sound system. There's nothing more irritating than watching a film and having to crank up the volume during the quieter, soft-voice moments before quickly turning it back down again before the major car explosion frightens all of the characters and upsets your neighbours. The Ikon Vokal 2 ensures that the voices of your favourite characters are reproduced accurately and loudly. 

Musicality is also important, as the philosophy of improving the sound quality of those voices that may otherwise be difficult to hear in films is perfectly applicable to music, should the song be particularly heavy or intense or even if not, the Ikon Vokal will smooth over those vocal sounds and deliver them to a degree of accuracy and clarity not normally experienced.

The Ikon Vokal 2 has been designed to integrate with and compliment the existing models of the Ikon range perfectly.
