Denon's D-M39DAB Mini System continues the success of it's forebear, the D-M38, and features a classic hi-fi appearance, as well as a wide range of listening options, including digital radio and CD with USB iPod docking, all in a compact housing with great sound at an affordable price. The Denon DM series of compact hi-fi systems has been developed over many years with the aim of increasing sound quality and facilities, to continually meet the needs of modern music fans. The DM39's compact size of just 21cm width and 31 cm depth means that it is very suitable for music lovers looking for a very compact, high performance audio solution, and can be easily positioned on a shelf, in the bedroom or on a desk in your office.

The DM39 offers plenty of listening options - besides an FM and DAB/ DAB+ tuner, it has a CD player which can also playback CD-R discs containing WMA or MP3 files. The front panel USB port allows playback from an iPod or iPhone, and WMA and MP3 files can be played from a USB stick or hard drive, whilst an analogue input allows the connection of a multitude of external sources, such as a turntable (phono pre-amp needed), Android phone, TV or games console. When you connect your iPhone or iPad to the USB port, due to the high resolution 24 bit 192kHz internal DAC, it is possible to enjoy much greater audio quality than from a standard iPod speaker. Control of playback can be achieved via the DM39 remote control, or via the touch screen of the iDevice.

For the D-M39DAB there are a number of new features - firstly there is now a rear panel optical digital input, ideal for connecting to flat screen TV's, set top box or Apple Airport Express to name but three - the result is even more functionality in one, compact enclosure.

Even though the D-M39 is a small device, it has excellent sound quality due to the following four aspects of it's design:-

• European sound tuning - the sound of the DM39 has been tuned to appeal to the preferences of the European customer, by utilising custom made capacitors in the signal path. 
• A simple and straight circuit design is applied, resulting in a smooth and clear audio quality due to the separation of the four main circuit blocks inside - preamplifier, power amplifier, CD mechanism and power supply. This results in less unwanted noise and distortion entering the audio signal. 
• Analogue and digital circuit blocks are separated in the unit, and also both have separate power supplies. 
• The optional SC-M39 speakers have been improved over previous models, both the tweeter and woofer are fresh designs and are linked together with a crossover network intended to mimic the naturalness and smoothness of natural sound.

DM39DAB is available in black or silver finishes, the SC-M39 speakers are available in black only.
