KEF Ci160TR ultra low profile in-ceiling speaker
KEF is a highly renowned, multi-award winning loudspeaker manufacturer whose high quality products can be found all over the world. KEF began in Maidstone Kent in 1961 by electrical engineer, Raymond Cooke. KEF is naimed after Kent Engineering & Foundry, which occupied the KEF site previously. Raymond Cooke was created OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 1979. KEF have produced products for the BBC, and have a vast range of products at many different price points.
The ultra slim KEF Ci160TR in-ceiling speaker has been designed to offer dynamic and realistic sound, when needing to accommodate in-ceiling speaker in restricted depth ceiling voids (less than 36mm). This model can often be found in permium marine applications, modern apartment flats and in elderly properties when the original ceiling has been plaster boarded over leaving only a very narrow gap.
The two way design has a separate 4.5" bass/ midrange T series woofer allied to a 1" dome tweeter with tangerine waveguide yielding a full range frequency response of 110Hz to 24kHz.
A paint-able, removable mesh grille attaches magnetically to the thin grille surround for a modern, minimalist appearance.
Key design features include:-
• <36mm mounting depth allows fitment to very restricted cavities
• Ultra-low profile LF unit with excellent bass extension
• Vented tweeter with KEF’s unique ‘tangerine’ waveguide for natural HF response and wide, even dispersion
• Rigid flat diaphragm assures clean upper bass and mid-range response
• Paintable Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) and magnetic grille to blend unobtrusively with décor
• Fast, versatile installation on virtually any surface via dogleg or direct screw fastening
