London Decca Gold Cartridge

The Maroon cartridge from London Decca has no long cantilever and no 'rubber' fulcrum point. This means that the vital music energy retrieved by the cartridge is not absorbed, dissipated or smeared in a negative way. The stylus is instead attached directly to the cartridge, using a magnetically active metal support. This metal support is only a few microns thick, and passes through the centre of the main generating coil - positioned about 1mm above the stylus itself. It's this meticulous attention to detail and care of construction that sets London Decca in a completely different level of cartridge construction from competitor brands. 

The Gold comprises of a nude, polished, grain-orientated elliptical stylus and the same generator found with the superior Super Gold cartridge. It also uses a very similar housing. London Decca state that the high quality Gold cartridge is able to provide 80% to 85% of the outstanding level of musical realism that the company's higher end Decca Jubilee model is capable of reproducing.  Frequency range: 20Hz to 40 kHz.
