The PM-8005 features a compelling 2 x 70W into 8 ohm, while its delicately designed and symmetrical HDAM preamplifier circuits featuring audiophile selected electronic components promise perfect image balancing. To fully assure an entirely unique audio experience, Marantz designers have moulded and shaped the power handling characteristics of the amplifier to ensure the best optimisation. The ALPS volume control is an audiophile grade stereo potentiometer which has very high signal separation of the widest stereo imagery possible.

One of the elements redesigned for this unit is the large aluminium double-shielded Toroidal transformer's circuitry, to directly optimise the unit's bandwidth power, giving incredible dynamic range which tracks the music perfectly.This results in a current feedback amplifier, with a vast energy reserve to push and drive even the most demanding of loudspeakers without hesitation or compromise. The large Nichicon power supply reservoir capacitors are located near to the power amplifiers where they are needed to provide instantaneous reserves of current to cope with the dynamic ups and downs of music.

To further the promise of exceptional sound quality, the PM8005 has current feedback HDAMs as well as a triple-layer bottom plate to help eradicate unwanted vibration. The amplifier also offers a source-direct mode, which allows for the cleanest audio signal and Phono MM to bring your vinyl collection to life.

The aluminium front panel is constructed from a single extrusion, which, together with a solid, rigid and heavy enclosure and triple layer chassis reduces susceptibility to unwanted vibration, which minimises distortion of the audio signal.
