The SA8005 from Marantz is an extremely capable and highly sophisticated CD player, with additional USB DAC. The unit reproduces a vast and clear sound stage without adding or removing any sonic elements to the source being played. This is down to quick and quiet lower impedance symmetrical circuits, constructed with high quality components. The loading mechanism of the CD player practically removes unwanted and unnecessary resonance, and its reduced distortion spectrum means that only the best possible audio quality is being played from SACDs.

The SA8005 also features a DAC-mode. It's got both optical and coaxial digital input as well as a USB-B connection, for you to directly plug in your PC. This means that you are able to use the unit's high-quality DAC and audio output stage with HDAM-SA2 modules. The SA8005 also utilises Marantz' newest ground/signal isolator technology; this practically eradicates the noise from your PC. The SA8005 fills the place of your computer's sound-card, and the USB-B port works in asynchronous mode, meaning that support is provided for not only 192 kHz/24bit but will also support the DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6Mhz for the best possible flexibility and performance.

All of these sources are processed using the same technology and method, so your entire music collection will glow with the same intensity and clarity, regardless of the source.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to connect and playback audio from a PC Computer via a connected USB cable it is necessary first of all to install the appropriate software driver on to your PC. It is not necessary for MAC. Please find the driver software in the download section at Marantz' website. How to install it is described in the user manual.
