Pathos Digit Premium CD Player
This tradition of combining innovation and invention with design and quality has been embraced and evolved by Pathos. Pathos' design philosophy is to 'combine the past, present and future, making hifi jewellery - small monuments. Highly advanced technological mechanics and uncompromising aesthetic result in a truly astounding hifi product, complete with the elegance and class that one would expect from a product designed and engineered in Italy.
Many hifi component manufacturers start with a product and build upon it to offer better quality alternatives as you progress through the market, Pathos, however, do the opposite and begin with a reference product and then work downwards in order to develop more affordable products of a similar quality. The Digit CD player is a testament to that philosophy and features trickled-down technology first devised for the company's award-winning Endorphin CD player. Once the Endorphin was finished and established, Pathos engineers began to work backwards in an effort to preserve the sonic integrity of the Endorphin with as few compromises as possible, in a more affordable package.
The main differences are limited to the transport mechanism and the power supply, as the analogue stage of the Digit is almost completely identical to the one found within the chassis of the Endorphin.
Who is Pathos?
Pathos Acoustics is an Italian manufacturer of premium high fidelity audio products. The company began in 1994 and was founded by three music enthusiasts; Gaetano Zanini, Gianni Borinato and Paolo Andriolo in the Italian city Vicenza. Vicenza is a sophisticated, northern Italian city, famous initially for monuments designed by prestigious architect Andrea Palladio. The city has since grown upon the classy and luxury themes set-out by Palladio and has since become renowned for innovative metal production, jewellery and fashion.
