The first Marantz product created over 60 years ago, a stereo pre-amplifier, was called the Consolette, and this new Marantz product has been released to create the best sounding digital music speaker on the market. The new Marantz Consolette speaker dock embodies many of the unique design features which were used in classic Marantz products of the past, for example the port-hole circular display, wooden cabinet construction, gyro wheel control high gloss finish and brushed aluminium front panel. Improved stability is given by the three circular feet on the base of the chassis, typical of the suspension on the Marantz TT-15, a high end premium series turntable.

Far from just an iPod dock, the strikingly designed Marantz Consolette will stream music from your home network including computer, NAS drive and internet radio via V Tuner, and deliver music with surprising realism and quality given it's size.

The new Marantz MS7000 iPod dock which in fact will also dock via the 30 pin connector to iPad and iTouch devices, charging their battery at the same time.

Control of the Consolette is either via the front panel controls, or an iOS and Android compatible App that allows you to select music from either a docked iDevice, a network place or via Airplay. There are six presets in the App to allow you to stire your six favourite internet radio stations for future use - how convenient is that! The App also allows friends with music stored on USB thumb drives (stick) to plug the USB stick into the rear panel USB socket, the app then indexes those songs and then you may select and play them. A rear USB port allows a hard drive or USB stick to play stored music files, and also can be used to update the firmware should new features be developed in the future. An analogue stereo inout allows external sources such as a CD player or turntable with internal pre-amplifier to be connected, further expanding your listening possibilities.

Connecting to your home network could not be easier thanks to Net Link feature - simply dock your iDevice in the Consolette 30 pin connector, press the 'Net Link' button on the rear panel, a Pop Up window will ask your permission for the Consolette to copy your network connections from your iDevice, and then you are done - the Consolette is now wireless connected to your home network.

The balanced mode radiator speaker unit has a wide 180 degree dispersion, to give a huge sound stage for s relatively small unit - walk around your room and you get a brilliant sound quality wherever you stand. The triangular shape of the enclosure gives a large acoustic space, essential for the depth of sound possible with Consolette. Each BMR driver and subwoofer has it's own sub-enclosure for the elimination of standing waves, so that the sound from one driver does not adversely interfere with that of another. Separate 25 watt power amplifiers drive the BMR's and each subwoofer has a 50W power amplifier, so the total combined power for the unit is 150W, giving audiophile quality sound, with a wide stereo image with no 'sweet spot'. A high gloss walnut and silver/ white finish is available, or black.
