At the heart of Primare's design philosophy lies a simple yet highly effective principle - to combine quality craftsmanship with superior sound and value. Primare are a Swedish manufacturer of audiophile grade hifi separates, operating as a close-kit team of engineers and music enthusiasts working together to provide the discerning music listener with a sound true to the original source and a design true to Scandinavian elegance.
Primare's stand-alone external DAC model, dubbed the DAC30 is a fully balanced high-performance 24bit/192kHz digital to analogue conversion chipset, designed and engineered to allow for the best possible sound reproduction from digital audio sources. High resolution music files stored on a PC or audio player are decoded by the DAC30 without compromise and can even upgrade the capability of your high-end CD player, set -top box or games console by bypassing their internal digital audio conversion chipsets, allowing all of the information to be handled by the DAC 30.
The DAC30 is a flexible unit with a wide array of inputs, including asynchronous USB-B for direct PC/laptop connection, a stereo balanced AES/EBU and three pairs of S/PDIF coaxial and TOSLink connectors for boxes like CD players and televisions. The DAC30 features much of the same brain-power as the company's outstanding BD32 Universal Disc Player, capable of converting and portraying very low distortion analogue signals to a high quality amplifier via balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA outputs.
