As with all models within Project's Box Design series, the MaiA boasts an exceptional level of functionality and performance from a minimalist and compact design. This unit has been designed to be compatible with essentially all modern music sources. The MaiA has been carefully and meticulously designed to offer a future-proof design with the inclusion of two optical inputs, coaxial, a USB input, and 3 standard analogue line-level inputs with a phono (MM) preamp built in for your turntable as well. Not only does the MaiA offer an exemplary amount of connectivity options at an exceptional price, but it also offers a superlative wireless streaming experience via Bluetooth AptX. 

Regardless of whether you are listening through headphones or through speakers, the playback offered by the MaiA is comparable to that of audiophile standard valve amplifiers, delivering a warm, analogue-familiar sound (as one would expect from a company who specialise in turntables). The MaiA also utilises a phenomenal 24bit/192kHz DAC, integrated within the unit itself.

The MaiA is controlled easily and without hassle, using the included IR remote or by the simple control buttons found to the front of the unit. The ProJect MaiA can be purchased in either a silver or a black faceplate finish.

Who is Project?

Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990's, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least  £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
