QED Performance Optical Digital is an interconnect which allows you to connect your CD Player, MiniDisc, DAT recorder or your DVD Player, games console or digital set-top box to either your Hi-Fi or Home Cinema inputs, providing that they also have inputs for digital optical interconnects.
Directly connecting via digital optical automatically cuts out the need for extra circuitry, when using standard RCA to RCA phono analogue interconnects. Extra circuitry usually can make a small effect upon sound as there is more for audio signals to travel, building up more resistance in the process. Digital optical connection is straight out to input, then through a DAC (Digital to Analogue) converter of the receiving audio components – involving less circuitry in the process. The overall result is noticeable when looking for those detailed high-end and smooth, responsive low-end signals.
QED Performance Optical Digital is an ideal interconnect because of its great feature laden design. These features are as follows; medical grade fibre optic core, protective PVC jacket for safeguarding audio signals in transport from potentially harmful external influences (such as interference), 24k gold platted TOSLINK connectors and finishing touches in the form of a precision engineered plug with integrated grips on either end.
