Building upon Peter Walker's seminal Quad 405 current dumping design from the 1970's the 2 x 140W into 8 ohms Quad 909 stereo power amplifier has more power and a refined circuit with audiophile components, but retains the genius of the original current dumping circuit.
In the Quad 909 a low power class A amplifer compensates for distortions introduced by the high power class B amplifier, so that the complete output power is dependant only upon the class A amplifier, which has been engineered to deliver incredible linearity and musicality.
Full electronic loudspeaker protection is provided by the Quad 909.
