Quad have recently announced the release of new and exciting pair of active speakers; the 9AS. The 9AS is as good for desktop and studio set-ups as they are for living rooms. They utilise 100 watts of amplification and have a wide range of both digital and analogue input options. These speakers are of the same high-quality build you'd expect from premium speaker manufacturer; Quad, utilising the same exceptional audio engineering and phenomenal flexibility.
Quad's Active Loudspeakers follow the same design principles and engineering ethics as any product launched by the company; to offer the best performance for the price. The 9AS is based on the mini-monitor concept of the highly regarded QUAD 9L speaker. The 9AS features a new tweeter unit with an associated waveguide front plate to guarantee a clean and detailed high-end, while the woven Kevlar bass/midrange cone allows for a punchy and dynamic sound overall. Integrated within the 9AS are low-distortion class AB amplifiers. This model features USB, digital and analogue inputs for the discerning music enthusiast looking to cut down on boxes without compromising quality.
'Active' means that a power amplifier is present in both speakers, which removed the need to buy an additional amplifier. The 9AS also has a DAC on-board to allow the input of digital information from your laptop or desktop computer, your disc player or other digital audio device. The 9AS also has analogue inputs, and its preamp functionality means users are able to switch between a number of music sources without needing additional components. The 9AS speakers are available in a number of beautiful finishes, including high gloss black, high gloss white or ruby red.
