Quad Platinum Mono Power Amplifier is Quad's finest solid state mono power amplifier yet, a connoseurs choice that delivers 180W per channel and is designed to sound even better than the Quad Platinum Stereo Power Amplifier when doubled up, to offer depthless dynamic range and drive.
It has been designed down to the finest detail to ensure nothing short of stunning performance with a wide range of speakers. Features include special output stages with a large number of output transistors, each driven from its own driver transistor to maximise linearity. Quad says this 'enables virtually flat output impedance to be presented to the loudspeaker across the frequency domain, leading to a more natural dynamic performance throughout the audio spectrum'. DC servo coupling is used to eliminate capacitors in the signal path, and new PCB layouts have been designed to screen signal paths.
Both RCA and XLR outputs are provided to allow seamless integration with the rest of your hi-fi system and also a 12V trigger connection to allow them to be powered on/off by the Platinum DMP CD player.
