The latest Rega Fono MC mk4 features very low noise performance due to the use of ultra-low noise dual N-channel JFETs in the input stage, which also offer great stability of performance as the JFETS are contained within the same package ensuring excellent thermal tracking.

The Fono MC is a moving coil phono preamplifier, designed and engineered to enhance your cartridge's delicate phono signal to line level while retaining the integrity of the sound. The surface mount board layout features a new Rega design, which has also been optimised to work with today's generation of quality moving coil cartridges. On the rear of the unit are DIP switches to set input resistance, and input capacitance along with two different gain settings, making it compatible with most low-output moving coil cartridges. 

The Fono MC circuit design resulted from the work carried out on the high-end Aria stage, making the Fono MC a great value moving coil phono stage. Naturally, it pairs perfectly with Rega's own MC cartridge range with the default DIP switch settings, but such is its adjustability for input impedance and gain, it also can be used successfully with almost all low-output moving coil cartridges on the market. 

New aluminium casework rejects radio bourne interference and is also non-magnetic, greatly improving sound quality.
