This new range consists of four Class D amplifiers, all of which come in two 8-channel configurations, possessing 50 watts channel and 100 watts per channel with all channels being driven at the same time. The RKB-D8100 contains both analogue and digital input functionality with the digital inputs feeding 24 bit/192 kHz capable DACs, while it's little brother, the RKB-8100 features only analogue input functionality.

It's common knowledge that long lengths of speaker cable within custom installation operations can cause amplifiers to face some challenges. Rotel believes that the most efficient way to optimise the sound quality of custom speakers is to feed them with high-quality power. The RKB-8100 is similar to its 50-watt counterparts, the RKB-850 and RKB-D850 in terms of features and general functionality, but boasts a highly impressive 8 x 100 watts per channel with all channels driven at 8 ohms. This means that the RKB-D8100 is able to push even the most demanding loudspeakers to the very best of their ability, and Rotel considers this to be one of their most powerful custom installation amplifiers to date.

While the RKB-D8100 is large in power, Rotel has managed to retain a compact and space-efficient unit housed within a dual-fan, cooled 2U chassis, that fits easily into an equipment rack. The RKB-D8100 is also well-suited for multi-zone audio systems. At the forefront of its manufacturing process, Rotel has put 'reliability and sound quality' as the essential philosophy, evident in their use of Dual SMPS power supplies, each partnered with a highly efficient and low-hear Class D operation.
