The Ruark R2i table top stereo system embodies principles of design and performance in a beautifully crafted package that looks and sound sublime.
Reading programme information whilst selecting stations with DAB, DAB+ and FM tuners is easy, even from a distance with the large, bright, high contrast LCD display. On the front panel a 3.5mm mini jack is provided for headphone output, together with a similar 3.5mm input for other audio devices.
On the rear panel, in addition to a telescopic DAB/ FM antenna, there are teo pairs of high quality phono RCA connectors, one pair to enable the R2i to be connected to an external hi-fi system, the other to allow sources such as CD, DVD, Blu-ray or TV to be connected to the unit.
The top panel universal iPod dock allows you to connect a number of Apple devices. A distinctive rotadial controller sits on top of the unit making operation simple and intuitive, whiles a compact hand held remote control permits all functiosn to be controlled at a distance.
The Ruark R2i is a complete music solution, perfect for those customers seeking high quality sound in small to medium sized settings.
The introduction of the latest iPod, iPhone and iPad models with Apple’s new style Lightning connector we know has caused some anxiety with customers concerned about future compatibility.
To help rectify this we’ve developed an effective Lightning Adaptor Support which integrates with Apple’s own Lightning to 30-pin adaptor and the iPod dock on our R2i and R4i models, allowing these new Apple products to function in exactly the same way as earlier iPod/iPhone models with the original connector. The beauty of this simple conversion is that iPod/iPhone models old and new can be used alongside each other and with millions of iDevices already in use; we feel that such flexibility will be important to many customers for some time to come.
Apples Lightning to 30-pin adaptor currently retails in the UK for £25.00 and is available directly from Apple and through many Apple retailers. Our Lightning Adaptor Support will retail for £7.99 and will be ready for sale early in 2013.

Our high contrast display with large format clock makes reading time and program information clearly legible, even from afar.
headphones
On the front panel a headphone socket is provided along with a line input allowing easy connection of auxiliary audio devices. A useful function is that the headphone volume is ‘remembered’ independently from the main speaker volume, so when headphones are plugged in the volume reverts to the last used level.
R2i's gold-plated phono sockets
On the rear panel we’ve provided two pairs of high quality phono sockets. The first provides output for recording or hook-up to secondary systems and the second provides an additional input for the connection of a CD/TV or a Bluetooth adaptor, so music can be wirelessly streamed to R2i.
R2i enclosure
Rather than plastics the R2i enclosure is handcrafted from wood based materials which we know give the best sound quality from our years designing hi fidelity loudspeaker systems. Clad in a choice of walnut veneer or high gloss lacquers, this material also feels natural and wonderful to touch.
R2i rotodial
Using our custom designed RotoDial, controls are laid out in an easy to use manner that feels good to use and importantly adds to the stylish look of R2i. Just behind the RotoDial we’ve provided an integrated iPod Dock, but for customers not interested in iPods and suchlike, we supply a neat clip in cover to keep the top panel looking clean and tidy.

Completing R2i is a compact remote control that enables all key R2i and iPod functions to be set and operated from the comfort of a chair or bed.
