The elegantly proportioned Spendor A5 floorstanding loudspeaker incorporates many technological advancements in drivers, cabinet and crossover from the Spendor SA1 monitors, but in a tall, slender form factor. The 4th generation of linear flow port allows the speaker to be positioned close to a rear wall without compromising sound quality. Superbly veneered in four beautiful real wood finishes, the speaker cabinet has polymer dampers at critical locations to turn any unwanted viabration into heat, enabling a very uncoloued and natural midrange. Standing on a very rigid plinth with steel stabilising system the speaker has twin 150mm bass/ midrange units with magnesium cast chassis which cover a wide frequency spectrum with ease, and excellent power handling, though sensitivity is below average, so an amplifier with plenty of power is recommended. A 22mm ferrofluid cooled dome tweeter completes the driver line up to generate smooth, extended high frequencies with breathtaking stereo imaging.
