Yamaha RX-V479 AV Receiver

An AV receiver is the true hub of any multichannel home cinema set-up, existing as the main unit for all of your sources (Blu-ray, Sky, Xbox, Playstation, Apple TV, etc) to feed a signal to, and for your speakers to receive a signal from. Most quality AV receivers will upscale the video quality and optimise the signal for the best possible picture. Many AV receiver models on the market today boast a vast plethora of excellent features and quirky inputs, but sometimes neglect to prioritise the build quality, mechanical integrity or the general sound performance of the receiver. Yamaha is no culprit of this; designing and engineering the internal circuitry to the best possible standards as their first and foremost precedence.

The RX-V479 model is no exception to this outstanding standard of sound quality, functionality, and quality of features. Offering a powerful and rich 5-channel surround sound, at 80 watts per channel into 6 ohms, the 479 is capable of driving even the most demanding of AV surround speakers. A vast number of HDMI inputs can be found on the rear panel, 6 to be exact, each of which include HDCP2.2 technology for the latest standard in 4K Ultra-HD visual specification. 

Music streaming is catered for also, thanks to Yamaha's controller App, its easy to stream your favourite tracks from Spotify, Pandora, Juke, etc while AirPlay functionality allows for direct audio streaming from Apple devices. The unit is capable of high quality lossless formats like DSD 2.8MHz/5.6MHz, FLAC/WAV/AIFF 192kHz/24bit and Apple Lossless 96kHz / 24-bit playback, and a USB drive located on the front panel allows you to connect your media device or flash storage drive.
