Yamaha SRT700 Soundbase

Yamaha are typically regarded as the flagship brand of the soundbar market, having been one of the first manufacturers to create a soundbar. There are a variety of soundbars to choose from, at various different price categories.

The SRT-700 is Yamaha's entry-level soundbase  model, designed and engineered to dramatically improve the quality of sound from your television. As TVs have gotten thinner and sleeker, as have the loudspeaker drivers within them. The result is a drastic compromise on sound quality, which many argue is equally as crucial if not more-so, to an immersive and lifelike home theatre experience than the picture is.

The benefit of a soundbase over a soundbar, is that you are able to place your television directly on top of the unit, whereas a bulky soundbar may otherwise block view of the set - the soundbase simply raises your television slightly in position and drastically in sound performance. Soundbases typically are able to deliver a more refined bass response also, as the larger cabinet allows for greater air movement.
