Audioquest Beetle USB DAC

AudioQuest Beetle is a smartly designed Bluetooth and USB digital-to-analog converter, which delivers low-noise, high-fidelity stereo sound. Beetle features USB, Toslink, and asynchronous Bluetooth inputs. As soon as this device detects a digital signal, it automatically selects the correct input. This high-performance digital-to-analogue converter then changes the digital data into a rich, detail-filled sound.

AudioQuest Beetle happens to be the first desktop Bluetooth USB da-converter, which can be conveniently upgraded on the web with the new software or firmware as and when the need arises. The AudioQuest Beetle comes equipped with an inbuilt powerful headphone amplifier. It has a 3.5 mm stereo minijack to provide analogue output feed directly to headphones, powered speakers, amplifier, or even to a soundbar. This minijack supports headphone output with minimum 20-ohm headphone impedance, the variable line-level output for driving powered speakers or power amp, and fixed line-level output for connecting to a preamp or receiver.

The Beetle gets powered via USB bus from your Mac or PC. However, when you are using only the optical Toslink input or the Bluetooth receiver, you will need to power it by using the included external power supply. By making use of Toslink input, you will witness a significant improvement in the sound quality of Apple TV or Sonos Connect. Beetle has been provided with an asynchronous USB (Micro Type B) interface for optimising the sound quality from MP3s, Hi-Res audio, or when connecting to a PC to access the stored audio content.

Its asynchronous Bluetooth input features Beetle's proprietary wireless communication technology. Beetle supports digital files up to 24-bit/96kHz for optical and USB inputs. AudioQuest Beetle Bluetooth and USB digital-to-analog converter sports a slim yet durable design that makes it easy to be moved from one room to other. The device utilizes the latest technology in its USB microcontroller developed by Microchip Technology based at Arizona.
