The latest innovation from Denon and their HEOS series is the HEOS AVR, a 5 channel AV receiver designed to drastically the restrictions that cables have on a surround sound system while retaining a dynamic and immersive level of sound quality without compromise. It's stylish design houses not only capable multiroom technology for use with other HEOS speakers and a wealth of HDMI inputs, but also has the brawn and authority necessary to power even some of the most demanding passive loudspeakers. The HEOS AVR is designed to power a left and right speaker passive speaker through traditional means of loudspeaker cable, along with a passive centre channel unit for a quality stereo or 2 channel audio experience. The subwoofer and rear units however can be connected to the AVR wirelessly. The dedicated Heos Sub only requires a power cable, and a pair of Heos 1 or Heos 3 speakers can act as rear left and rights with the same requirement. Alternatively, a HEOS Amp can be put to the back of the room with passive left and right speakers connected to achieve a more flexible and higher quality sound response through a full 5 channel series of loudspeakers. Using this configuration, it is easy to have 5 satellite speakers surrounding your home cinema system without the need for long wires reaching to the back of the room
