Audiolab M-DAC Mini Portable DAC
Audiolab set a new standard with the release of their 8200A and 8200CD/CDQ amplifier and CD player models respectively. With the launch of the new 8300 Series, Audiolab has set the bar once more, seeing a number of improvements over their predecessor both in terms of aesthetic and sound integrity. The M-DAC has seen similar improvements, with the launch of its more refined version the M-DAC+ and with the introduction of the M-ONE network microsystem, Audiolab builds a product to cater to the needs of any discerning music listener.
The M-DAC Mini builds upon the high standard set by the original M-DAC and M-DAC+ but sees this high-performance technology slimmed into a portable and convenient headphone amp and DAC. The M-DAC Mini was designed to offer a stand-alone hifi DAC performance from a pocket-sized box that one could unleash while on the move or sat upon a desk or table.
M-DAC Mini is fully equipped with specialist digital decoding chipsets to allow for the process of PCM audio data up to 32-bit/384kHz via USB. The USB input will also support DSD64, DSD128, DSD256 formats. The M-DAC Mini controls volume with a high-quality analogue potentiometer, as opposed to controlling it in the digital domain. Keeping the volume control section in the analogue stage reduces the loss of bits and is typically the construction one would find in a traditional hifi DAC separate.
