The HD-AMP1 is a newly developed high-class integrated amplifier, designed as part of the company's 'MusicLink' series. Featuring advanced switching amplification technology, this unit is capable of outputting a rich and detailed sound at a rate of 70W at 4 ohms.
The HD-AMP1 caters to a wide range of sources, thanks to a series of analogue and digital options. The built-in DAC is able to decode and enhance audio signals up to 384kHz/32bit resolution, as well as make the most out of DSD (2.8MHz / 5.6MHz / 11.2MHz) files. Optical and coaxial digital inputs mean that HD-AMP1 is not only ready to take music signals but also allows for a direct connection from a television or set-top box. A USB-B input allows for high-resolution audio playback from a Mac or PC.
Who is Marantz?
Marantz is one of the world's most famous hifi brands and was started in 1948 by New Yorker, Saul Marantz, an amateur musician and audio enthusiast who was dissatisfied with the amplifier products available at that time. He decided to build phono pre-amps which could handle all manner of recording equalisation popular in the day, and his friends persuaded him to build them one too. This quickly took all of Saul's time, as he was overwhelmed with orders - the Marantz company we know today was born.
