Naim Uniti Nova

When Naim began to develop the Nova, they set out the goal of proving that versatile features and intuitive operation does not mean having to compromise on sound quality. Nova is an audiophile HiFi system, that offers support for a vast multitude of wireless and physical sources from a single box, configured in such a way that the integrity of your music remains unscathed, guaranteeing a dynamic and engaging listening experience.

The Nova's compact enclosure is home to the finest circuitry, assembled with an array of superior components to ensure the traditional Naim reputation of impeccable sound quality is upheld with this contemporary unit. A huge toroidal transformer provides a clear and rich 80 watts of power per channel, while the highly isolated arrangement, signature volume control and vast range of inputs sit the Nova as the highest calibre all-in-one system in its class.

The front of the Nova bears a full-colour LCD glass display, 5 inches in size, guaranteeing an easy-to-use operation with the added touch of hearing your favourite albums with their visual artwork on display. The LCD screen also features a proximity sensor that will wake it up when you approach it. Included with the Nova is an intelligent bidirectional remote control that works in conjunction with the signature volume dial. Of course, as with all Uniti players, the Nova can be operated entirely from a smartphone or iPad using the clean and sophisticated Naim app.

The Uniti Nova was designed and engineered by Naim's highly experienced technicians in the city of Salisbury, England. This is also where the Uniti Nova is assembled, ensuring the world-famous level of craftsmanship and build quality that Naim are renowned for. Aesthetically, the Nova matches its state-of-the-art Uniti brethren in following a visual design first seen with Naim's flagship Statement amplification system; brushed black aluminium casing, elegant and illuminated signature volume control and the beautiful glowing base.

Please note that if you're viewing this product on a computer, the App Store links will not work as they are only intended to work on mobile devices.

Who is Naim and what is their Uniti Series?

Naim Audio has a special place in British audio, thanks to its founder and inspirational leader Julian Vereker, a hugely talented mechanical and electronic engineer with a passion for, amongst many things, music. Founded in 1973, Naim has always had a firm philosophy of music first, measurements second - each Naim product is extensively auditioned as part of the product development process to make sure that it delivers clear, emotional music-making ability. Naim products are designed to bring the closest facsimile of a live music event into your home listening environment, to give you maximum pleasure from your music collection.

'Uniti' is the term given to Naim's series of all-in-one network players, designed and engineered to offer a flexible and versatile operation while retaining the best possible sound performance without compromise - something Naim has become renowned for over many years as a critically acclaimed home audio/hifi manufacturer. KEF R3 Bookshelf Loudspeaker

R3 redefines standmount performance. No surprise, as it shares the same drivers as the range-topping R11. A true three-way speaker, the 165mm (6 in.) bass driver pushes bass performance to new extremes. The 125mm (5 in.) midrange driver and 25mm (1 in.) aluminium dome tweeter create a Uni-Q array that defies the expectations of the most compact main speaker in the range.

KEF's Uni-Q

KEF's ingenious idea of placing the tweeter in the acoustic centre of the midrange cone brings the acoustic ideal of a single-point source closer to realisation. The new R series benefits from the new 12th generation of the legendary Uni-Q which has been extensively designed using KEF's in-house simulation and analysis tools. KEF's smart engineers have found a way to reduce the colouration by reducing the resonance in the minute gaps between Uni-Q's separate elements, which will result in a much purer sound, more precise and will make stereo imaging far more believable.

Who are KEF and what is their R series?

KEF is a highly renowned, multi-award-winning loudspeaker manufacturer, whose high-quality products can be found all over the world. They were founded in Maidstone, Kent in 1961 by electrical engineer Raymond Cooke, who was awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 1979. The KEF name comes from Kent Engineering & Foundry, who were previous occupants of the KEF site. The company have designed loudspeakers for the BBC and has a vast range of products at many different price points.

KEF's R series features many of the prestigious speaker company's latest and most impressive innovations in premium high-fidelity audio and home theatre loudspeaker technology. The R series takes authentic audiophile-quality standards and brings them to a much more affordable price range. The range utilises KEF's latest Uni-Q driver array, combined with newly developed bass drivers and enhanced components throughout. This results in a wide and vast stereo image, complete with flawless accuracy that many reference-level speakers from lesser brands are unable to achieve.
