While Moving Magnet cartridges tend to offer a more relaxed, warmer sound, Moving Coils are known for offering a better level of detail and a wider stereo field than the Moving Magnet alternatives. Moving Coil Cartridges will often require an external phono-stage specific to their construction. Ortofon is committed to delivering the best quality cartridges for your turntable, in an effort to offer the most refined and exquisite analogue sound quality. Ortofon have introduced around 100 different moving coil cartridge models since 1948, with the newest range being the colourful and capable Quintet Series.

Ortofon believes that the new Quintet range is more than qualified to be the worthy successor to the vast line of high-quality turntable cartridges they've developed previously, and just by consulting the specifications - it's not hard to see why. The Quintet series has been described as possessing its 'own individual sonic expression', and each of the five models together represents the team of five classic models.

Ortofon Quintet Bronze Cartridge

The Quintet Bronze is one of the higher-level Quintet models. With its slim profile of Nude Fine Line diamond stylus, the Bronze is able to track even the most delicate and precise of high-frequency information, which makes this cartridge a must-have for any discerning music enthusiast. Additionally, the larger footprint of the cartridge ensures a reduction in unwanted distortion and the wearing-down of vinyl records. Ortofon describes the Quintet Bronze as offering a 'very even-handed' sound with 'respect to all aspects'. Classical music is especially well-played from the Bronze and is given a more powerful and open-spaced life than ever before. All types of music, however, will be conveyed with the highest precision and accuracy, to give the best possible dynamic experience.
