Project DAC Box RS

The DAC Box RS from Project is the Box Design series flagship digital/analogue converter, complete with DSD compatibility and dual-mono 24/192 conversion capability. You can also switch between a solid state, or a valve state, depending on preference. The DAC Box RS is able to convert a vast plethora of digital stereo sound sources. You can use this unit in place of an inferior computer soundcard, as the DAC Box RS can be used as a superlative USB audio interface to allow even the most demanding of audiophiles to appreciate the entirety of their PC's music library at a high fidelity sound quality. This includes full DSD capability up to DSD128 over PCM.

All of the DAC Box RS' inputs are capable of fully supporting 24/192kHz high definition music data (optical: 96/24) in fully asynchronous mode. The DAC chips used by the DAC Box RS are the highest standard of PCM 1792, which are usually found in units at much higher price points. There two different digital filer settings available so that the sound response can be adjusted accordingly, depending on the preference of the listener. The valve state will offer a warm and relaxed sound aimed to offer an atmosphere similar to that of vinyl, while the solid-state Class A setting offers limitless detail and dynamics that one would expect from a high format digital track.

The whole audio circuitry design is ultra low noise and ultra linear with very low output impedance to avoid any negative interference with cables or pre-amps. Due to its class-leading audio performance, DAC Box RS is an ultimate high-end bargain!

Who is Project?

Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990's, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least  £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
