Project Tube Box S2 Valve Phono Stage

Project's Tube Box S2 is the second generation of the 'Tube Box S'. This valve preamplifier has been designed and constructed with a high-quality valve output stage to offer a truly superlative sonic performance, completing the level of warmth and richness that one would expect from any analogue-minded product designed by Project. Despite this sonic superiority, the Tube Box S2 is still moderately priced and rivals similar units at much higher price points.

This unit is ideal for mid-priced analogue systems and has been designed with the most demanding audiophiles in mind, offering a vast improvement over the smaller Phono Box S model. There is a wide range of setting parameters to match the Tube Box S2 to practically any high-quality Moving Magnet or Moving Coil phono cartridge on the market today. The components within have been specifically chosen and precisely arranged to ensure that an audiophile-grade performance is met, bringing an outstanding level of fidelity to valuable vinyl collections.

The Tube Box S2 provides a solid level of pure dynamic prowess, total transparency, textured and liquid bass, and detailed resolution of all audible frequencies, and then tempers these qualities with a blanket of true analogue warmth.

Who is Project?

Project started in the hifi business designing and manufacturing affordable stereo turntables in the early 1990s, beginning with the entry-level Debut model. It was a great success, like all other turntables on the market at that time were at least  £100 more expensive, without offering a performance benefit. Project has gone on to extend the range of turntables they offer at all popular price points and performance levels, through midrange to high-end models.
