This is a special Rega version of the Michell clamp, designed to fit Rega turntables, due to the clamps deeper spindle holder.

The Michell Engineering Rega record clamp is built from Black Delrin, A high strength, wear-resistant resin with an anodised aluminium knob, with an R stamped into it, to indicate that this is a Rega specific clamp. Using the Record Clamp will enhance the sound quality of your vinyl collection by offering an additional layer of stability, while also reducing the negative effects of warped vinyl. 

Who is Michell?

This is the special Rega version of the Michell clamp as the normal one does not fit Rega turntables. This version has an ' R ' stamped onto it. The difference is the clamp spindle hole is deeper allowing for a perfect fit with the smaller spindle on the Rega turntables Modern vinyl records are thin, flexible and often warped or bowed. As most records do not lie flat on the turntable platter, sound reproduction suffers due to undamped vinyl resonances caused by the stylus riding on an unsupported record. Records which are bowed downwards contact the platter at the outer edge but not in middle.
