Naim Audio has a special place in British audio, thanks to it's founder and inspirational leader Julian Vereker, a hugely talented mechanical and electronic engineer with a passion for, amongst many things, music. Founded in 1973, Naim has always had a firm philosophy of music first, measurements second - each Naim product is extensively auditioned as part of the product development process to make sure that it delivers clear, emotional music making ability.

Naim products are designed to bring the closest facsimile of a live music event into your home listening environment, to give you maximum pleasure from your music collection. Many of the Naim products are evolutions of previous designs, incorporating sometimes quite small changes to the mechanical or electronic design - however, these incremental changes make a large overall improvement in the music performance of each product.

The NDX network player was developed and engineered by Naim Audio in order to provide the discerning audiophile listener with a convenient and flexible, yet highly engaging and musically adept solution to listening to digital music via streaming. Beaten only by the NDS, the NDX takes the single-component convenience of the company's ND5 XS model but focuses on an improved power supply, complete with a Naim-specific toroidal transformer with four separate windings for the different output stages (digital, DSP, clock and analogue).

The NDX is highly versatile, allowing music to be sourced through the means of high resolution network streaming over UPnP/DLNA, Spotify Connect, USB playback, internet radio, DAB and FM radio, TIDAL lossless, and physical digital components via coax/optical. When combined with other Naim Audio network-enabled boxes, such as the Naim Muso or Naim Muso Qb, the NDX is able to sit as a room within your multiroom network. 

The NDX makes use of the same RAM buffer and master-clock jitter removal methods found with the Naim Audio DAC along with Naim's famous techniques of oversampling, filtering and signal management. The NDX can be used in combination with the XPS or 555PS power supplies to significantly increase the performance of the machine, despite already offering an exemplary performance that can't be beaten at this price point.
