Ortofon 2M Red (PnP Version)
The 2M Red is a critically acclaimed and highly popular moving magnet turntable cartridge from well-known cartridge experts; Ortofon. Ortofon have designed an optional 'Plug and Play' headshell for a practical and elegant way of directly mounting the cartridge to almost any tonearm with detachable headshell.
The mounting fitting is universal, so it will fit most turntables. It's built from a special compound that one would usually find within the medical industry, it's been chosen for this purpose due to its high rigidity and anti-resonant capabilities. The length of the headshell is 52mm and weighs 16.9g with the premounted cartridge weighing 23g.
The output is a healthy 5.5mV making it an easier job for the amplifier, and the split pole pin design which gives a very flat frequency response. A high-quality elliptical stylus profile ensures accurate, low distortion tracking of your records across the entire playing surface.
