The Arcam P349 Amplifier

The Arcam P349 is a class G amplifier, toroidal based power supply with an acoustically damped chassis. The P349 also has paralleled transistor output stages which generates exceptionally low levels of distortion and noise. The key element of making this power amplifier is that it is capable of reproducing music with all of its original authority and detail.

With intention, the Arcam P349 is designed to completely jump over other competition, pumping out a massive 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It will also deliver 50 watts in pure class A mode whilst allowing huge extra power reserves. During the normal operation, distortion is measured in less than one part per million so that this massive power will deliver total power and finesse. The P349 has been specifically designed with a system building flexibility in mind and what this enables is that this can be used with other P49's to create the best multi-channel amplification set up.

Who is Arcam?

Arcam is a well-established UK manufacturer of quality hifi components, based just outside of the world-famous University of Cambridge. The company began in 1976, founded by two music enthusiasts with a passion for electronics. The company was initially named Amplification & Recording Cambridge, before shorting to A&R Cambridge, and eventually to the snappier and more impacting name that we know today; 'ARCAM'.
