Project Box Design's DAC Box DS has been designed to offer a superior digital sound reproduction from a compact and discrete unit. The Dac Box S is just as capable of processing and converting high-quality sound from CD Players and other traditional digital sources through it's optical/coaxial inputs but is also a premium quality USB audio interface. 

The most demanding issue from PC audio transmission is the 'jitter' that various computer components add to the digital signal. Incorrect signal timing directly affects the audio signal in a negative way. The DAC Box DS combats this issue by utilising ProJect Box Design's own dedicated asynchronous USB streaming technology. This means that the DAC Box DS is able to clean-up and re-lock the signal to its initial timing before converting and then transmitting.

USB Audio supports high-quality 24-bit/192kHz data transfers thanks to its specially chosen DAC chups - Burr Brown PCM 1792. This DAC technology is usually found in far pricier machines.

Who is Project?

It's no secret that ProJect design and engineer some of the most critically acclaimed turntables and turntable accessories in the market. In an effort to prove themselves in other aspects of hifi, ProJect have released their 'Box Design' series; a collective of amplifiers, CD players, iPod docks and more - all of which exist in astonishingly compact cabinets. These compact units can be combined with dedicated shelf cabinets to form a tidy mini-system appearance while retaining the quality and 'ease-of-upgrade' of hifi separates.
