Q Acoustics have looked at the sub/ sat design challenges differently in designing the gorgeous Q7000 5.1 home cinema speaker package, and have created a compact AV surround speaker system which comfortably beats the sound quality of the competition, whilst also looking great.
Available in gloss black or gloss white finish, the four aluminium satellites are only 240mm tall, however they are full range speakers thanks to the twin 3" drivers per speaker, so they integrate very easily with the slimline subwoofer included in the package. The centre channel satellite is a 2.5 way design with two bass/ midrange drivers and a single 1" dome tweeter for clear diction on vocals. The satellites come with integral feet which allow them to be used on desktops or rotated to allow wall mounting. A pair of optional speaker stands are available with cable management down the centre of the column allowing speaker cables to be hidden.
The slimline subwoofer is also innovative - in addition to being suitable for floor placement, an optional bracket is available to allow wall mounting, keeping things very neat and tidy. Combining a 250W class D power amplifier with top mounted crossover frequency control to a 10" ultra long throw bass driver acting upon a sound board for efficient radiation of bass to the room, it delivers very tight bass with great extension, and happily works in tandem with the satellites on both movies and music programmes.
