Details

The CD-S700 CD player inherits many of the technologies and functions of the top class CD players for example, the CD-S2000 and CD-S1000. While achieving high purity sound as a component specializing in music reproduction (no video or still picture play functions), it also provides high quality play of music files stored on digital audio players or USB memory devices via a USB port on the front panel. Among its outstanding features are Pure Direct, which cancels digital audio output and the display to boost the quality of analogue sound output, and a silent loader plus high precision CD drive, which improves CD reading precision and lowers operating sound.

This CD player is a perfect match for the A-S700 Amplifier. Not only in appearance, but in the basic Yamaha philosophy of thinking of components as though they were musical instruments, not just music playback devices. In other words, giving them the fine musical qualities you expect of a Yamaha product.
Yamaha's exclusive Silent Loader, which uses Synchro Wire rather than noise producing gears for totally silent tray movement, is the same one that was used in the CD-S2000 and CD-S1000. Together with the thin, highly stiff disc tray, it ensures extremely quiet opening and closing operations. Improvements to the operating software of the CD pickup have reduced pickup operating sound during performance. You get top operational performance as well as a satisfying operating feel.

The differential D/A converter, which takes full advantage of digital technology nurtured over a period of many years, ensures excellent conversion precision, S/N ratio and dynamic range. All other components, including the Burr Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DAC that has a firmly established reputation, the acoustic condenser and the symmetrically laid out audio board were carefully selected based on extensive listening tests to provide natural and musically rich playback.
The triple wire-wound power transformer made especially for this machine separates the power circuits for audio circuit use, digital circuit use and transport use to eliminate interference between the stages; interference which degrades sound quality. The audio unit has a new non feedback power supply with a discrete structure that contributes to dynamic sound with low power loss.

The CD player provides the same Pure Direct feature that is a popular feature of Yamaha amplifiers and receivers. Pressing the button on the front panel or on the remote control shuts down the digital audio output and turns off the display. This achieves the lowest possible noise interference and thus highest sound quality of the analogue audio output.
