The NPS2000 will play music files stored on your home computer network from a NAS drive, or home PC/ Mac via your network into your home hifi system with the very highest level of sound quality. And of course, being Yamaha, sound quality is what this product is all about. The unit has no hard drive or CD drive, which banishes all sources of electrical noise, and the sound quality benefits are enormous. The analogue circuits have been laid out symetrically which ensures the very best sound quality from a network player. The back panel features extensive connectivity including balanced audio outputs on XLR connectors, making sure the player matches high end pre-amplifiers and integrated amplifiers. The file formats will play include FLAC, WAV, MP3, WMA and AAC, basically any standard music file you would wish to play. Sonos users will find the unit a joy to own, as it makes the most of the Sonos convenienience but improves the sound quality available. In addition to the standard Yamaha remote, there is also an iPhone application making it very easy to use to select the songs you want very quickly. For those audiophiles who wish to rip losslessly and enjoy digital music at it's highest quality look no further.
