Yamaha started business in 1987 manufacturing musical instruments. As the business grew it added motorcycle and audio equipment manufacture to it's portfolio. Today all of these product areas are flourishing, and over 25000 employees in more than 40 countries are involved in Yamaha.

The Yamaha consumer electronics range offers solutions for music and movie enjoyment in the home, with a wide range of hifi separates and home cinema products covering all budgets, from entry level systems costing a few hundred pounds, to high end systems where each item represents to absolute pinnacle of performance.

An AV receiver is the true hub of any multichannel home cinema set-up, existing as the main unit for all of your sources (Blu-ray, Sky, Xbox, Playstation, Apple TV, etc) to feed a signal to, and for your speakers to receive a signal from. Most quality AV receivers will upscale the video quality and optimise the signal for the best possible picture. Many AV receiver models on the market today boast a vast plethora of excellent features and quirky inputs, but sometimes neglect to prioritise the build quality, mechanical integrity or the general sound performance of the receiver. Yamaha is no culprit of this; designing and engineering the internal circuitry to the best possible standards as their first and foremost precedence.

The RX-V581 is designed to offer a superlative and immersive home theatre experience, acting not only as the brains of your system but the heart also, with enough intriciacy and intelligence to process and decode your systems to an uncompromising standard and the power to feed them to your loudspeakers with dynamic prowess.

One of the latest surround-sound formats, devised and engineered by Dolby is dubbed 'Atmos'. Designed to offer a truly immersive sound experience, Atmos combines traditional 5 channel surround sound with a captivating and multidimensional twist; audio that comes from above you, placing you at the heart and centre of your favourite films, TV shows and video games. This experienced is achieved by using a compatible AV receiver, such as this one, on conjunction with two additional speakers , set either in the ceiling or 'Atmos'-specific, upward firing speakers that rebound the sound from the ceiling downward to the listening point.

DTS:X is a state-of-the-art, object-based home cinema audio immersion technology. Using the traditional 5 channel surround sound set-up, intricate audio processing is able to form a lifelike sound-scape to reflect the environment within your favourite films, TV shows and video games. Using a compatible receiver, like this one, DTS:X will allow you to feel as though you are right in the centre of the action.

MusicCast is Yamaha's solution to multiroom networked audio. With decades of experience and expertise in designing and engineering some of the most advanced audio/visual products on the market, MusicCast utilises state-of-the-art brainpower to allow for easy, high quality communication between your compatible devices. Your rooms are controlled via a smart-device App, where you can group/ungroup rooms, adjust volumes, choose tracks, etc for all and each of your MusicCast products. This means you can mix and match happily between your soundbar, wireless speakers, AV receiver, two channel amplifiers, etc freely from the palm of your hand.

Bluetooth has progressed greatly in the last few years, now offering a much higher fidelity signal transmission than previously possible. The latest version of Bluetooth, combined with this receiver's 'Compressed Music Enhancer' means that you are able to stream tracks from your laptop or device with great ease and to a great standard of quality.

This receiver is packed with the latest in HDMI technology. 4K video at 60 frames per second pass-through means that you're able to fully enjoy your ultra-HD content without compromise. This receiver also aheres to the HDCPC2.2 copyright protection standard for 4K video, as well as HDR video technology for enhanced picture quality.
