Positioned at the top of Arcam's beautifully designed FMJ stereo CD player range, the Arcam CD37 contains Arcam's 30 years design expertise to extract the maximum information from CD and SACD discs, to give the listener the complete performance as intended by the recording studio. Given that the circuit design is so advanced, the component choice to implement the design is critical - inside the case you will find low jitter clocks for perfect bass timing and slam, ultra precise digital to analogue conversion via Wolfson 8741 DAC's, which also convert the DSD data stream of SACD's superbly. There are two separate toroid transformers, one for digital circuits, one for analogue so that noise contamination is negligible. Arcam engineer's have also added two unique Arcam noise reduction techniques - 'Mask of Silence' reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) by the precise placement and attachment of ferrite material to the noisy components in the circuit, for example the DAC's - this enables fine detail in any recording to come flooding through. Arcam Stealth mat (metal fibre matting) technology placed on the base of the casework further lowers the noise floor and allows the full detail of the music to be revealed. If you pick up this player, you will surprised at the high weight - this is partly due to the to heavy toroidal transformers, but more so the braced, damped chassis casework, which does not resonate when rapped with the knuckles - this feature ensures there is no mechanical vibration reaching the critical CD transport or circuit boards, which further helps the supreme clarity of sound on offer. If you love your disc collection and want to hear the full 100% amount of information on each disc, the Arcam CD37 is definitely for you.
