With 250W into 8ohms of power on tap and generous current reserves, the Audiolab 8200MB is an iron fist in a velvet glove. It will drive the most difficult loudspeaker loads with ease to very high levels and with ultra low distortion and total reliability. It delivers typically 255 Watts into 8 ohms, 400 Watts into 4 ohms and will drive 1000 Watts into 2 ohms for short durations. Balanced and unbalanced audio inputs are provided - if you can use the balanced XLR input, especially if your pre to power amp interconnects are more than 3m long - you will get far less induced hum and noise with a balanced connection. To keep standby power consumption low, it can be woken up by a 12V trigger signal sent from the CD/ preamplifier, or using the sensitivity control, it will wake up when it senses an audio input signal. This monobloc forms a superb basis for any stereo or home cinema system, the only decision is, how many do you want in your system?
