B&W PM1 standmount stereo loudspeakers in mocha gloss

A refined, premium quality stand mount compact loudspeaker, the new B&W PM1 is designed for the superb reproduction of music. Featuring a new tweeter and cabinet design by Bowers & Wilkins research and development engineers in Steyning, Sussex, this new model is capable of stunning  three dimensional sound staging with a degree of scale and authority which is totally unparalleled in it's class.

Many new technical breakthroughs have been incorporated into the design of this new monitor, both trickle-down technology from the 800 Diamond series, and also additional new developments not seen in other Bowers and Wilkins loudspeakers to date.

The aluminium dome tweeter has a ring of carbon bracing to increase it's rigidity, thereby increasing the breakup frequency to 40kHz, beyond the limits of human hearing. Treble output is incredibly sweet and detailed, and gives this model fabulously deep and wide imaging qualities.

The kevlar bass midrange driver is a well proven, rigid material which delivers low colouration and excellent, solid bass - the engineers have added  an anti-resonance, mushroom shaped plug which fits inside the pole piece, to ensure resonance and bass overhang are a thing of the past, enabling the listener to hear drums, double bass and organ with the full power and substance of the live event.

Cabinet resonances have also been radically dealt with by using a multiple matrix of strengtheners within the enclosure itself which interlock, giving very solid bracing and a very natural presentation of the all important vocal frequency range.

The matt black, curved mineral-loaded resin baffle is inert and rigid, ensuring superb stereo imaging and total clarity of sound stage.

A minimal electronic crossover has been employed using Mundorf M-Cap supreme oil capacitors to reduce microphony. Overall, the PM1 gives a superb rendition of stereo recodings with an expansive, coherent soundstage, sweet highs and comanding lows with natural, uncoloured midrange and great scale of sound.

Finished in luxurious Mocha gloss real wood veneer side cheeks, optional floor stands complete this high-end package.
