HDMI cables
HDMI cables are now used for 95% of all video connections, but we still offer component, s-video, SCART and composite video analogue video cables suitable for use with older home cinema separates.
HDMI is effectlively the relacement for the well known SCART cable, where audio , video and control signals are sent from your DVD Player, Sky Box or Blu-ray Player to your television or projector. The big difference between SCART and HDMI is that SCART uses analogue signals, whereas HDMI employs digital signals, giving potential for much higher picture and sound quality, together with additional convenience features such as establishing hand-shaking between your TV and source components, and also adding high speed ethernet to the mix.
HDMI 1.4 is the latest specification HDMI cable in the market, and is suitable for all HD TV's and projectors, and also is 3D HDCP compatible. Video signal quality of up to 1080p may be reliably transmitted up to 10m, whilst the slightly lower resolution 1080i or 720p can be transmitted up to 20m. High speed ethernet comes with HDMI 1.4 as standard, so your network products can connect to the web without any additional connection necessary. Also, if your television is equipped with an on-board tuner, HDMI 1.4 will routhe the audio output of the TV to your AV Receiver or home cinema system for decoding.
