From the masters of mini system design and manufacture, the Denon D-M38 DAB sets the performance bar still higher this season with a combination of features, performance and price almost impossible to beat - certainly What Hifi magazine agreed with this in September 2010, giving the Denon D-M38 DAB a 5-star rating.

So what is all the fuss about? Certainly, Denon D-M38 DAB looks the part in a smart silver or black aluminium finish, with a small footprint of just 210 x 115 x 309mm ( W x H x D). Build quality is excellent too, and all the features you would expect are present, plus some you would not at the low price.

As well as playing CDs in multiple file formats, Denon DM38 will let you hear DAB+/FM/AM radio with RDS and Radio Text.

Your iPhone or iPod connects digitally using the front-mounted USB socket and the cable that came with your iPod - the digital audio connection gives much better sound quality, as the internal super quiet DACs and audio circuitry convert the digital music to analogue. iPod is also charged and ready for portable use by Denon D-M38.

Other portable music players can also be connected by the front panel 3.5mm stereo mini jack connector. A headphone socket is also featured for private listening.

Denon's matching SC-M37 speakers are a two-way design featuring a 120mm DDL cone bass midrange driver and a 25mm soft dome tweeter. The frequency response is 45Hz to 40kHz which is a good match for the main unit.

With so much on offer, Denon has again proved they are the best when it comes to designing the ultimate mini system.
