Home Cinema Systems

Home Cinema systems comprise a main unit which contains the Blu-Ray or DVD player together with the HDMI amplifier needed to drive the speakers. There can be five or two speakers and always a subwoofer to give more bass frequency sounds.

Systems with five speakers and a subwoofer are referred to as 5.1 home cinema systems, whereas systems with two speakers and a subwoofer are referred to as 2.1 home cinema systems. 2.1 systems are ideal for smaller rooms where you want to improve on the basic TV sound quality without all of the fuss and wires of a full 5.1 surround sound system.
