KEF is a highly renowned, multi-award winning loudspeaker manufacturer whose high quality products can be found all over the world. KEF began in Maidstone Kent in 1961 by electrical engineer, Raymond Cooke. KEF is naimed after Kent Engineering & Foundry, which occupied the KEF site previously. Raymond Cooke was created OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 1979. KEF have produced products for the BBC, and have a vast range of products at many different price points.
The original LS50 is often regarded as one of the best performing bookshelf loudspeakers on the market, a reputation that they have managed to uphold throughout their lifespan so far and continue to do so. Initially built to as a limited edition model to celebrate KEF's 50th anniversary, the LS50 became a permanently available unit due to extremely high demand.
KEF have now taken the fundamental components of the LS50 and integrated high quality amplification and DAC technology to form a wireless, active version of the LS50. This means that the discerning audiophile is now able to enjoy a wide range of music sources with outstanding clarity, vast, open soundstaging and a dynamic, lifelike bass while cutting down on boxes dramatically.
The LS50 Wireless requires no external amplification and can be fed music via WiFi or Bluetooth aptX for a lossless, wireless transmission. The LS50 Wireless can also take a physical source such as a CD player, television, computer, turntable (phonostage not included), games consoles and more via digital optical, USB or analogue RCA inputs to the rear of the master speaker.
