The new Audiolab Omnia is what you achieve when you merge Audiolabs three outstanding award-winning products, these consist of the highly-rated 6000A Amplifier, 6000CDT CD Player and finally the 6000N Network Streamer built into one unit. You have the same power as the 6000A which sits at 50 Watts Per Channel making it rather easy to pair this with any speaker you desire (to an extent of course) - we have actually had some good first-time, hands-on experience with the Omnia and to no surprise, we were very impressed, to say the least. The new update to Play-Fi DTS makes streaming music much more enjoyable, the initial setup was very easy to follow (if you own a 6000N this will be very familiar to you). Of course, for those who stream at a higher quality, MQA and Hi-Res streaming is also available; this also incorporates ROON testing too, which we used in the shop. The dedicated CD transport incorporates the same slot-loading mechanism as Audiolab's flagship CD player, the 8300CDQ.

Firmly planting itself as a very useable piece of high-tech equipment, the Audiolab Omnia makes use of a colour IPS LCD display, offering a higher clarity of colour and lower power consumption than TFT displays. Via the captivating display, the Audiolab Omnia offers a simplified general user interface and a graphical integration with your music source and playback formats. It also uses a brand new protocol for a real-time VU meter display, adding a touch of hi-fi finesse to the very functional, equally good-looking, display interface.

Audiolab has given the Omnia a slight design retweak from the current 6000 series they offer, needless to say, it is a very good looking product, we know that this will happily sit in any sort of listening environment. The Omnia comes in Silver and Black for those who want to match it with either an already existing system, or for those who want it to blend in.

Who is Audiolab?

Originally created by Philip Swift and Derek Scotland over 30 years ago, Audiolab has always designed high-performance electronics at real-world prices with great build quality. The original 8000 series have been re-engineered for the 21st century and the resulting 8200 models extended to embrace digital music streaming.

Audiolab set a new standard with the release of their 8200A and 8200CD/CDQ amplifier and CD player models respectively. With the launch of the new 8300 Series, Audiolab has set the bar once more, seeing a number of improvements over their predecessor both in terms of aesthetic and sound integrity. The M-DAC has seen similar improvements, with the launch of its more refined version the M-DAC+ and with the introduction of the M-ONE network microsystem, Audiolab builds a product to cater to the needs of any discerning music listener.
